Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plans

Predictable costs, no networks, and freedom to see any provider who accepts Medicare.

A Medicare Supplement, also called Medigap, works alongside Original Medicare instead of replacing it. Medicare pays first, and your Supplement pays the deductibles and coinsurance Medicare leaves behind. There are no networks and no referrals — if a provider anywhere in the country accepts Medicare, your plan works there.

Plan letters are standardized by federal law, so a Plan G from one carrier pays exactly what a Plan G from another carrier pays. Only price, rate-increase history and service differ. That is precisely where an independent broker earns their keep: we shop the identical benefit across carriers and show you who is charging what for the same thing.

Problems we hear every week

Identical plans, wildly different prices

Two carriers can quote the same standardized Plan G with a meaningful annual difference for a 68-year-old in Middle Tennessee.

Rate increases sneak up

A low introductory rate means nothing if the carrier has a history of aggressive yearly increases.

The health-question window closes

During your Medigap Open Enrollment you cannot be turned down. After it, underwriting can decline you outright.

How we solve it

1

Multi-carrier quoting

We pull current Tennessee rates for Plan G, Plan N and high-deductible G so you compare apples to apples.

2

Rate-history review

We look at how each carrier has treated existing policyholders, not just how they price new business.

3

Guaranteed-issue protection

We track your open enrollment and guaranteed-issue rights so you never lose the ability to buy without underwriting.

A review takes about twenty minutes, costs nothing, and ends with real numbers instead of a sales pitch.

What you gain

  • Any doctor or hospital nationwide that accepts Medicare
  • No referrals and no prior-authorization gatekeeping
  • Highly predictable annual medical spending
  • Coverage that travels with you and does not change networks each January

Serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee

For clients in Middle Tennessee who split care between local providers and specialists at Vanderbilt University Medical Center or Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, a Supplement removes the network question entirely. Snowbirds and clients who spend part of the year out of state generally find the same. Remember that a Supplement does not include drug coverage, so we pair it with a standalone Part D plan.

FAQ

Medicare Supplement questions we answer often

Which Medigap plan is most popular?+

Plan G for people new to Medicare, because it covers everything except the annual Part B deductible. Plan N trades small office copays for a lower premium.

Can I be turned down for a Supplement?+

Not during the six-month Medigap Open Enrollment beginning when you are 65 and enrolled in Part B, or during a guaranteed-issue event. Outside those windows, carriers may use health underwriting.

Does a Supplement cover prescriptions?+

No. You add a standalone Part D prescription drug plan, which we quote at the same time.

Can I switch Supplement carriers to save money?+

Often yes. If your health allows you to pass underwriting, we can move you to identical benefits at a lower rate.
